Concrete mixer trucks: It is mainly used in the hydraulic systems of concrete mixer trucks, providing oil supply for the hydraulic motors that drive the mixer drums, ensuring the normal rotation of the drums and the mixing of concrete.

Excavators: In excavators, it supplies oil to the main pump of the hydraulic system, helping to maintain the working pressure of the main pump. It also provides lubricating and cooling oil for various components such as the slewing mechanism and the boom - arm - bucket working device, ensuring their smooth operation.

Installation: During installation, it is necessary to pay attention to the correct connection of the pump inlet and outlet pipes. The inlet pipe should be short and straight to ensure smooth oil suction, and the outlet pipe should be firmly connected to prevent oil leakage. Maintenance: Regularly check the oil level and oil quality in the hydraulic system. If the oil level is too low, add oil in a timely manner, and if the oil quality is poor, replace the oil and oil filter element. Gear-type or vane-type hydraulic charge pump assembly for the 5423 system. We provide complete OEM-specification manufacturing, from custom design validation to mass production.

We deliver a fully assembled, tested unit ready for installation. This includes the pump body, internal gears/vanes, shaft, seals, and often integrated relief and check valves, ensuring all critical clearances and alignments are set at the factory for immediate, reliable service.

Special Operating Conditions & Critical Emergency Protocols

The charge pump's role becomes most critical under extreme system demands.

Cold Starts in Low Temperatures: At startup, hydraulic oil is viscous. The charge pump must overcome this viscosity to pull oil from the reservoir and build pressure. This imposes very high torque demands on the pump and its drive.

Emergency Indicator – Slow or Sluggish Drum Response in Cold Weather: If the drum is slow to start rotating or responds sluggishly when cold, but improves as the system warms, it strongly points to a weak charge pump unable to build sufficient pressure when the oil is thick. Continuing to operate can starve the main pump, causing catastrophic cavitation damage.

Protocol: Always allow for an extended warm-up period in cold weather. Use the correct viscosity oil for the climate. If symptoms persist, test charge pressure immediately.

High-Ambient Temperature Operation: In hot climates or during continuous mixing, overall system temperature rises. This reduces oil viscosity but increases the internal leakage (slip) within all pumps, including the charge pump.

Failure Mode – Loss of Charge Pressure When Hot: A pump with worn clearances may maintain adequate pressure when cold but will fail to do so when hot, as internal slip increases. This leads to main pump cavitation, noise, and eventual failure. Monitoring charge pressure at full operating temperature is the only true diagnostic.

Contamination-Induced Failure: The charge pump is the first pump to see oil from the reservoir. It is highly susceptible to damage from ingested particles.

Critical Defense: The in-line suction filter and the case drain filter are the most important maintenance items for charge pump longevity. A clogged suction filter can cavitate and destroy the charge pump; a bypassed case drain filter allows wear particles from the entire system to circulate through the charge pump bearings and gears.
